Jane W. Gitau - Head of Retirement Benefits Busi Jane W. Gitau - Head of Retirement Benefits Business (CIC Life Assurance Ltd)

Has 27 years of experience in the insurance industry and held various management positions in departments dealing with employee benefits products. She holds a Bachelor degree in Economics & Sociology (Egerton University); Executive Master in Business Administration (JKUAT); Master of Science in Global Ageing (Gerontology) & Policy (University of Southampton), Higher Diploma in Psychological Counselling (KIPC); Associate of the Insurance Institute (ACII) in UK & Associates of Insurance Institute (AIIK) in Kenya.

Neala Wanjala is an Advocate of the High Court of Neala Wanjala is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Laws degree from the University of London. She also has an MBA degree from the United States University, Africa.

She has worked within the financial sector for over 15 years, both at private commercial banks and the Central Bank of Kenya. At the Central Bank she led the legal section of the Secretariat to the CBK Pension Fund and the Banki Kuu Pension Fund.

She currently works at the National Treasury of Kenya’s PPP Directorate as a Legal Counsel. The PPP Directorate is the focal point for coordinating initiatives in Kenya, aimed at increasing private investment in the infrastructure market in Kenya. As a legal counsel at the Directorate, she is involved in the entire spectrum of project development from project initiation and screening to contract execution and management. The role also has a regulatory angle which entails reviewing of sector laws and making recommendations for refinement or amendment to accommodate PPP Projects.
Stella is a partner at Gikera & Vadgama Advocates Stella is a partner at Gikera & Vadgama Advocates and head of the Nairobi office, she has a distinguished track record in delivering advice on real estate projects. This includes advice on property acquisition, obtaining requisite approvals, securing development financing, preparation of contract documents, registration, and handover of developments. She also advises financial institutions on risk management, corporate governance and legal compliance. She has expertise in Intellectual Property, Kenyan Cyber Security law and Pension Law. She has drafted and reviewed Trust Deed and Rules for various schemes issued legal advisory on retirement benefits related issues for several corporate entities including public entities, and listed companies.

Education & Memberships

Stella has a Bachelor of Law degree from Moi University and a diploma from the Kenya School of Law. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Environmental law and has also undertaken the Trustee Development Program Training. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya.

Hobbies

Stella is passionate about the environment. She loves the outdoors. The discipline of systems; running to prepare one’s body, exercising and keeping to the track, are a translation of the same in her work life. In her spare time, she loves reading motivational books and spending time with her family.
Stephen Ondari is a Pensions Consultant who offers Stephen Ondari is a Pensions Consultant who offers direct consultation to boards of trustees and their selected delegated agents on how best to run their schemes to be both administratively and cost efficient. After spending more than a decade working in the retirement benefits industry, Stephen has gained a unique understanding on what drives schemes to deliver better outcomes for their members; governance.

Stephen is currently the Principal Consultant at Arrow Financial Services a consultancy firm with a specialization in governance of retirement benefits schemes and independent trusteeship. He is also an independent trustee on the board of the ICEA Lion Umbrella Retirement Benefits Scheme. He has previously worked at Kingsland Court Benefits Services as the Schemes administration manager. In addition to consultancy work Stephen trains trustees under the Trustee Development Program Kenya (TDPK), conducts trainings on topical issues for boards of trustees and helps schemes formulate policies and strategic plans.

Stephen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi, Certificate in Risk Governance from Macquarie University, Australia and is a certified trustee under the TDPK program.
Mr. Terrence Adembesa is the Chief Officer, Deriva Mr. Terrence Adembesa is the Chief Officer, Derivatives Market at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). Terry has over 15 years’ experience in investment banking and notable achievements in financial sector engagements that have and continue to impact directly on the lives of ordinary East Africans.

Terry was responsible for the development of the Growth Enterprise Market Segment (GEMS), the NSE and FTSE International Index Series, the Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITS), Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and the Derivatives Market - NEXT at the NSE.

In his current role, Terry provides leadership for the derivatives business and product development function of the NSE. He serves as a Member of the Executive Management Committee and its subsidiary company, NSE Clear Ltd and as the Secretary of the NSE Board of Directors’ Derivatives Oversight Committee. Terry is also a Board Member of the Association of Futures Markets (AFM) representing Africa and the NSE.
Einstein is the Chief Executive Officer of ICEA LI Einstein is the Chief Executive Officer of ICEA LION Asset Management Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting & Finance Major) and a Master of Science Degree in Management and Organizational Development, both from the United States International University (USIU). Einstein also has a Master of Science degree in Finance from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, UK.

Einstein’s industry experience spans over 22 years, having started his career as a Research Analyst in 1999. In the course of his career, Einstein has worked at Equity Stockbrokers, Barclaytrust Investment Services, Old Mutual Asset Managers, CFC Stanbic Financial Services, Sanlam Investment Management Kenya and ICEA LION Asset Management Limited. Einstein also serves as a Director of ICEA Asset Management (Uganda).

Einstein is the Chairman of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA) and is the immediate past Chairman of the Fund Managers Association (FMA) where he chairs the Stakeholders Committee.

Einstein enjoys reading on domestic and international Current Affairs, Economics & Finance, Management, Leadership, History, Politics and Biographies/Autobiographies and is an active member of Ridgeways Baptist Church where he previously served as Treasurer of the Church Council and Chairman of the Men Ministry. He also serves as an Administration Leader for Bible Study Fellowship (BSF).
